TRAVELLING ALONG THE PANAMERICANA IN SOUTH AMERICA-ARGENTINA by Frank Klaus (Germany)

At last, a break from the frugal camper life.

The Ruta 40, more than 5000 km along the Andes from the north to the south of Argentina. This dream road also leads through the Argentinian wine-growing region near Mendoza. Andrea wanted to do a wine tasting here. Fortunately, this question was also discussed in the WhatsApp Panamericana group, so we knew where we could enjoy a wine tasting with food at a very good winery and also spend the night there in the camper.

Voilà “Ojo de Agua”. The Europeans among us may still know the Swiss music duo Yello. Dieter Meyer, one of the musicians, is now not only a music producer but also owns a vineyard near Mendoza, a cattle farm and restaurants not only at the vineyard but also in Zurich and Frankfurt. We didn’t know that until then either.

What we also didn’t know was how wonderful a 5-course meal in the middle of the vineyards with a view of the Andes is.
