The IGAL Spring meeting was a resounding success due to a perfect blend of business, social events and sightseeing all around the wonderful port city of Rotterdam. Our heartfelt thanks to our terrific hosts Pim and Juul Nuiten. The location of the beautiful Marriott Hotel directly across from the Central Station was very convenient for all of those travelling by train. On Thursday those who arrived early had an expertly guided tour of the historic SS Rotterdam. Following the tour, we enjoyed a lovely sunny luncheon on the forward top deck of the ship. The next stop was a very informative tour and then a tasting at a well-known local brewery. The evening was capped off with a delightful dinner at the famed New York Hotel.
Friday’s social day excursion was fabulous! We began the day with a very scenic and leisurely boat cruise from Rotterdam Harbor to our hosts’ home town of Dordrecht. After a great lunch on board we spent the afternoon touring this stunning historic town; so much to see and do including a tasting at a local distillery. That evening’s opening reception and dinner held at the Marriott was the perfect way to finish this very enjoyable day.
On Saturday the delegates convened for the midterm business meeting. Featured in the program were sessions on Artificial Intelligence, HR practices and the welcoming business climate in Cyprus. Accompanying Persons enjoyed a tour of beautiful Delft including the Royal Delft Museum. The Gala closing dinner was an incredible milestone in IGAL’s history! For the first time we had the most fantastic experience dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, Joelia. It was an exquisite evening of outstanding tastes, sips, service and ambiance. Absolute perfection!
Much applause again to Pim and Juul for all their careful planning and work on this very productive and delightful meeting. And special thanks to Sarah for a great first meeting. IGAL is in very good hands going forward.
