So, it has been approximately two and a half years since the INSIDER came into being. We have been developing it, thinking about it, trying to put it on the right path, advising it, making sure it doesn’t embarrass us and, last but not least, making sure it brushes its teeth and cleans behind the ears, so to speak.
But, as every worried parent, we want to make sure our child is socially adaptable and adjusted. Don’t want to burden it with any damaging mores.
Your editor decided to have a heart-to-heart with the INSIDER. What follows are the highlights of that interview.
Editor: Happy 34th month birthday. How does it feel to be a month older and wiser?
INSIDER: Thanks. Doesn’t feel that different. However, I am maturing and am thankful for that.
Editor: Maturing, definitely. In what way?
INSIDER: I am beginning to understand different issues and am seeing them clearly. For example: the tightly woven fabric of IGAL members connections. I am glad to be part of that, to contribute. To play a part of keeping everyone together.
Editor: What else?
INSIDER: My connection with Nature is expanding. I am learning about the seasons. Also, the oceans, birds, fish and the like. My understanding of the colors is expanding. All those articles have caused me to be aware of my surroundings. Also, I am aware of the importance to exist, to be alive.
Editor: Nature, huh? Any particular place comes to mind?
INSIDER: Yes. There is that Bainbridge Island. Many articles about it. Seems to be an OK place. I am glad I am connected to it.
Editor: What is your favorite section and why?
INSIDER: OFFICE SPOTLIGHT is, by far, my favorite. I like to learn about the members. It is an opportunity to get to know everyone better, to get acquainted with their operations. I like meeting the people that make up IGAL.
I also like our movie reviews and wish they would appear more often. Little culture has never hurt anyone.
Editor: Any special thanks you wish to pass along?
INSIDER: Yes, to the people who choose the photographs for the issues. I started to look much better due to them. Very attractive, if I say so myself; I am beginning to get noticed and I am enjoying it.
Editor: Hey, don’t get ahead of yourself. How do you feel about all those technical articles; pretty impressive. You are super smart.
INSIDER: I love them and wish more would appear. I am impressed with the quality of IGAL members and am proud to be in their good company.
Editor: Glad to hear your impressions. We’ll continue these conversations from time to time in order to make sure all is going well.
INSIDER: By all means. Let’s. It is important to make sure we are on top of our game. You know what they say:
What time is it when the clock strikes 13? Time to get a new clock. Let’s avoid that.
