The Milan International Furniture Fair is a premier international event of furniture design and is held annually in April since 1961.
The “Salone” features, among other categories, kitchen and bathroom furniture. The exhibit area occupies approximately 210,000 square metres within the Fiera Milano district of Rho and involves more than 2,300 companies. The “Salone” welcomes about 400,000 visitors every year, of which 30% are from Italy and the rest from all over the world. This indicates how the “Salone” is “a must” for anyone involved in commercial and residential furniture industry due to the fact that most important international artists and designers take part in the exhibit(s).
This event contributes significant benefits to the city of Milan: a large influx of tourists and the related spending.
Unfortunately, due to the health emergency, the 2020 edition of the Salone del Mobile has been postponed to 2021(April 13-18) which will also be the 60th anniversary of the event. The preparations have already begun.
For reasons already stated, this event is shaping up to be more fabulous than usual. It should represent a return to normalcy as well as a unique opportunity to relaunch the furniture industry for Italian, European and non-European companies.
