My name is Henrik Jaeger, I have been into contact with firms that are Members of IGAL and as such, I was aware of the network.
This year, for the first time, I had the opportunity to take part in a meeting and after all I had heard, was very curious.
That IGAL is not only about a professional international network of the highest calibre was established on the journey to the meeting as we came across further Members during our transfer at Munich airport. It rapidly became clear that not only professional, but also personal, relationships are developed. Precisely this mix summed up the whole weekend for me.
The evening events took place in incredible locations in Palermo that, as a tourist, one would not generally have a chance to experience. Particularly special for me was Friday evening where we had dinner at ‚Alle Terazze‘ in an impressive building right by the sea.
The day on Saturday was studded with first class presentations from renowned speakers:
- Marcantonio Ruisi, illuminating the Italian start-up scene from an economic point of view.
- Annalisa Mangiaracina, describing the effect of so-called „Deferred prosecution agreements“ on dealing with corporate economic crime.
- David Thornton, explaining the importance of the English language in business on a global scale.
From the first minute of arrival to departure from Palermo, how well the Meeting had been organised and executed by Giovanni and Beverley was evident.
The mixture of business, guided tours and evening programs not only introduced me to the lovely city of Palermo, but also facilitated new professional and personal relationships as well as deepening existing relationships between the members. Whilst it was my first time as part of the network in Palermo, the spirit of IGAL was palpable.
I was left with one impression above all others. IGAL thrives not only on the professionalism of the members, that is without a doubt present, but also on the friendly atmosphere amongst the Partners.
